On April 1, 2008 the Florida Senate Transportation Committee unanimously passed out a bill that bans texting while operating a motor vehicle for people of all ages. The language was an amendment to the bill sponsored by Senator Carey Baker, Republican from District 20. Senator Baker's bill also bans the use of cell phones by anyone 18 and younger while operating a motor vehicle.
Senator Baker, and his Committee, should be applauded for making the streets of Florida safer for all citizens.
